This Privacy Policy explains how Ridgeline Technologies, LLC (“we,” “us”) handles data in connection with our Grafana plugin(s) (the “Plugin”) distributed through the Grafana Labs Marketplace. It also explains how we handle data when you visit the Gapline website or subscribe to the Gapline newsletter (section 9).
1. How the Plugin works
The Plugin runs inside your own Grafana environment. It queries the systems you configure it to monitor (for example, infrastructure APIs or certificate endpoints) and renders the results in your Grafana. Your operational data and any credentials you enter remain within your Grafana environment.
2. Data we do not collect
In normal operation, we do not collect, store, or transmit your monitored data, metrics, credentials, or Grafana contents to our own servers.
3. Limited data we process
- Support communications. If you contact us for support, we process the information you provide (such as your name, email, and the details of your request) to respond to and support you.
- External checks, where a plugin requires them. Certain features may require the Plugin to contact an endpoint operated by us or a sub-processor in order to perform a check that cannot be performed from inside your environment. Where that applies, only the minimum information needed to perform the check (such as a hostname you ask us to check) is transmitted, and we do not retain your monitored content. Any such behavior is described in that plugin’s Marketplace listing and documentation.
- Billing. Purchases are handled by Grafana Labs as reseller and seller of record. We receive limited transaction and reporting information from Grafana Labs; we do not receive your payment-card details.
4. Sub-processors and third parties
We may rely on Grafana Labs (distribution and billing), Cloudflare, Inc. (website hosting, email routing, and network services), and, for the Gapline newsletter, an email service provider. Our subprocessors page lists each provider and what it does. We do not sell your data.
5. Data retention
We retain support communications only as long as necessary to provide support and to meet legal obligations.
6. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the limited data we process.
7. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of personal data we hold about you (such as support communications). Contact us at the address below to exercise these rights.
8. International processing
If you contact us from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States.
9. Gapline website and newsletter
Gapline is a product of Ridgeline Technologies, LLC. It is a website and a free email newsletter. This section applies only to Gapline. Nothing in it changes how the Plugin works.
What we collect. When you subscribe, we collect your email address, the date and time you signed up, and the page you signed up from. When you sign up we also record which link or page brought you to the form, so we can tell which channels work. Our email service provider also records whether each message was delivered, and may record whether it was opened or clicked. We do not ask for your name, and we do not collect payment details for the free newsletter.
Why. We use this to send you the newsletter you asked for, to keep a record of your sign up, and to respond if you write to us. We rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Unsubscribing. Every email contains an unsubscribe link. When you unsubscribe we stop sending. We keep only the minimum record needed to make sure we do not email you again. You can also write to us to ask that your address be deleted.
Website and cookies. The Gapline website does not use advertising trackers, and we do not use third party analytics on it at this time. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes request metadata (such as your IP address) to deliver the site and keep it secure.
Sharing. We do not sell your email address or share it for advertising. It is processed for us by our email service provider and our hosting provider, as listed on our subprocessors page.
Retention. We keep your address for as long as you are subscribed. After you unsubscribe or ask for deletion, we remove it from our active list.
10. Changes
We may update this Policy and will post the updated version with a new “Last updated” date.
